Ágnes Máté is a graduee of the University of Szeged, Hungary, where she has earned an MA degree in Italian Studies (2006) and another one in Hungarian Studies (2007). She has earned her PhD at the same University in in Neo-Latin Literature, in 2011. After a second PhD degree, completed at the University of Warsaw, Poland (2015), she worked on different post-doctoral projects in Hungary. Since August 2022, she works as a librarian specialised in old prints at the Library of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Ágnes has published four monographs and edited three collective volumes so far. Her main fields of interest are Neo-Latin philology, popular literature, and Hungaro-Polish-Italian cultural and dynastic connections in early modern times. Ágnes is a founding member of the Hungarian Young Academy (FKA), and in that quality she has already participated at the 2019 World Science Forum in Budapest.
