Asad Ramzanali has over a decade of leadership in technology and technology policy. He is currently at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), where he serves as the Chief of Staff and Deputy Director for Strategy, with the designation of Special Assistant to the President. Asad advises the OSTP Director, a member of the President’s Cabinet who oversees 150 staff and leads key priorities for President Biden and Vice President Harris, including AI, semiconductor R&D, cancer research, and climate science.
Asad joined OSTP in 2022 after working for four years on Capitol Hill. He served as Legislative Director for U.S. Representative Anna Eshoo, who represents much of Silicon Valley in the House, after serving as a fellow in the Office of U.S. Senator Brian Schatz. Asad authored several pieces of legislation that were signed into law on AI, R&D, privacy, broadband, and semiconductors.
Asad started his career in the private sector, prior to working in public policy. He worked on the corporate strategy team at Intuit Inc. and managed an impact investing program funded by JPMorgan Chase that invested in early stage financial technology startups that serve low income Americans. Asad holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Master in Public Policy degree from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
