Kana ASANO has been engaged in research on international trends in Science and Technology Innovation (STI) policy and R&D, and the practice of science and technology diplomacy. PhD candidate at Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Program, National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS).

Joined Japan Science and Technology Agency in 2009. Experienced in international affairs, launching and managing the STI funding program, and assisting the Science and Technology Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
